When you have neck or back pain your stability muscles get inhibited. This means they will not work properly and will not provide your neck and spine with the support they need. This can lead to your pain either lasting longer or getting worse.

Stability muscles are also found in your hip, knee and shoulder and again pain in these regions can stop them working properly.
